Behavior Basics. Understanding The “Why” of Your Child’s Challenging Behavior is a short, introduction course that gives you an overview of why children sometimes tantrum or display other behavior that gets in the way of them, and you, having an enjoyable day.
In this course, I hope to be able to answer some of your questions regarding the “why” of behavior and that how the way we, as parents, address our child’s behavior, can increase the behavior, or decrease it depending on our response.

In this introduction to behavior basics course, you will learn:
-the definition of behavior (through a behavior analytic lens)
-what behavior includes
-behavior function
-a data collection system that can help determine the possible functions of behavior
-appropriate consequences based on behavior function
-general strategies for success
